MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team moved its mark to 3-1 with a 5-2 triumph over the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders at the Live Oaks Tennis Courts Monday afternoon.
Head coach
Mark Rosewell's squad started out strong by scoring wins at No. 1 doubles from Carolina DeOliveira and
Alexandra Dodashev and No. 3 doubles from
Sofia Pignataro and
Julia Aliseda. The No. 2 doubles match was stopped with the Bearcat duo of
Tyffaine Pais and
Vera Alenicheva trailing, 4-3.
Northwest kept the pedal down in singles action by taking four of the six matches. Northwest tallied wins at No. 2 singles (Pais), No. 3 singles (Aliseda), No. 4 singles (Pignataro) and No. 6 singles (DeOliveira). SAU's only two wins came in three-set matches at No. 1 singles and No. 5 singles.
