SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The No. 17-ranked Ouachita Baptist Tigers men's tennis team squeaked out a 4-3 MIAA/GAC dual with the No. 14-ranked Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats at the Cooper Indoor Tennis Courts.
The Bearcats (2-1 overall, 0-1 MIAA/GAC) captured victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take an early 1-0 lead.
However, the Tigers stormed back in singles play and leveled the match at 3-3 with the No. 5 singles match hanging in the balance. Northwest's Mason Maier took the opening set, 6-3. OBU's Alex Blanchar drew even with a 6-3 victory in the second set. The third set was pushed to a tiebreaker before Blanchar pulled out a 9-7 triumph in the marathon match.
