Northwest earns third seed in NCAA Central Region; 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance

The Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team secured the program's 22nd all-time NCAA Tournament berth with the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Central Region.
 
The Bearcats will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., to compete in the NCAA Central Region set for March 12-15 at the Pentagon.
 
Northwest (28-5 overall) will match up against No. 6-seed MSU Moorhead in the first round. The winner will take on the winner of the No. 2 seed Minnesota Duluth vs. No. 7 Washburn. Augustana claimed the No. 1 seed and will play host to No. 8 seed Southwestern Oklahoma State. The other quarterfinal matchup will feature No. 4 seed Upper Iowa and No. 5 seed Central Oklahoma.
 
It is Northwest's ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Ben McCollum.

All seating will be general admission. Tickets for the regional will go on-sale Monday at 10 a.m.  online at Ticketmaster.com, at the Sanford Pentagon or by phone at 605-312-7917. Tickets prices are $15 for adults and $7 for students per session. An all-session pass for adults is $50 while a student all-session pass is $24. Children 2 and under are free.
 
In addition, the Pentagon Box Office will open one hour prior to each session.

Saturday, March 12 (Session II)
5 p.m.: Augustana vs. Southwestern Oklahoma State
7:30 p.m.: Upper Iowa vs. Central Oklahoma
 
Sunday, March 13 (Session III)
5 p.m.: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
7:30 p.m.: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4
 
Tuesday, March 15 (Session IV)
7 p.m.: Regional Championship
