MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 25-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team picked up its first conference dual victory of the season with a 7-0 sweep of the visiting Augustana University Vikings on the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Tennis Center.
Northwest (4-3 overall, 1-2 MIAA/GAC) captured all three doubles matches for only the second time this season. The doubles success landed the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the dual against Augustana (4-9 overall, 0-4 MIAA/GAC).
The Bearcats kept the pressure on the Vikings in singles play. No. 8-ranked
Andrea Zamurri was pushed to a three-set win at No. 1 singles against Augie's Hendry Dornbusch (7-6, 2-6, 6-3).
No. 22-ranked
Franco Oliva had a much easier time at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 pasting of Augie's Justin Karcher.
