MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team completed its first regular season sweep of the Emporia State Hornets since 1993 with a 77-65 victory at Bearcat Arena.
Northwest moved to 17-9 overall and 12-8 in MIAA play, while ESU dropped to 13-13 overall and 8-12 in league play.
The Bearcats overcame a career-high 36-point night from ESU's Tre'Zure Jobe with three Northwest players in double figures.
Molly Hartnett tallied 20 points and she was joined in double figures by
Mallory McConkey with 15 points and
Peyton Kelderman with 13 points.
Northwest built a 25-10 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter and did not trail in the game. ESU cut the Northwest lead to 53-52 in the third quarter, but could not overtake the Bearcats.
