JOPLIN, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team fell to Quincy University, 12-7.
Northwest (4-6 overall) took a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth, but could not slow down Quincy (2-1) as the Hawks scored 12 straight runs from the fourth through the eighth inning to secure the win.

The Bearcats used the long ball in the third to take the lead to 3-0 behind solo shots from
Jacob Pinkerton and Holden.
Tyler Peters singled home
Ryan Koski and Brady Stickert lifted a sac fly that scored Peters in the fourth.
Bearcat starter Phil Brenneman was lifted after 3 1/3 innings. Brenneman was tagged for five hits, six walks and four runs (all earned).
Brandin Hallier relieved Brenneman in the fourth but surrendered two more runs in his 1 2/3 of work to suffer the loss.Â
The Bearcats got two runs back in the ninth on an RBI groundout by Halden and on a Quincy error that scored Pinkerton for an unearned run.
Northwest is scheduled to open its home play at the Bearcat Baseball Field this Friday, Saturday and Sunday against Central Missouri.
