The Northwest Missouri State University indoor track & field teams took another shot at putting up quality marks and times at the 2022 Friday Night Lights Last Chance meet held at the Hughes Fieldhouse.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Bailey Blake broke the school record in the indoor women's 800m with a blistering time of 2:10.39. Blake blew past the previous mark of 2:11.47 set last season by
Delanie Dykes. Blake's time of 2:10.39 is the 11th-best time in the indoor women's 800m this season.
Kaylee Harp also ran a season-best time of 2:13.36 in the women's 800m. Harp earned an NCAA provisional qualifying time, which ranks No. 30 in the nation this year.
Lexie Gilbert ran a personal-best 25.42 in the 200m dash. It ranks as the eighth-best time in Northwest's indoor history.
Tiffany Hughey won the 400m dash with a season-best clocking of 55.82. Hughey earned an NCAA provisional time with the 15th-fastest time in the nation this year.
Ally Hammond notched a season-best 8.75 in capturing the women's 60m hurdle title. Hammond's time is an NCAA provisional qualifying time which ranks No. 20 in the nation.
A trio of women's long jumpers earned season-bests at the Last Chance event.
Anna Gladstone won the event with a leap of 5.31m.
Kyah Luhring placed second with a jump of 5.25m.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Enrico Cavagna put up an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 21.68 in winning the men's 200m dash. Cavagna produced the sixth-best indoor time in Bearcat history.
Federico Crisci and
Prince Griffin each notched season-bests in the 400m dash. Crisci edged Griffin out at the line to win the event. Crisci was credited with a time of 48.633, while Griffin notched a 48.637 clocking.
Jake Norris won the men's mile with a time of 4:13.61.
Jacob Nkamasiai took second with a season-best time of 4:28.15. Austin Goestche notched a season-best clocking of 4:40.77.
Oscar Campos placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.61. Campos also placed second in the pole vault with another season-best of 4.28m.
Josh Clark won the pole vault title with a jump of 4.28m.
David Hipshire put forth a pair of season-best efforts in the shot put (14.49m) and weight throw (13.29m).
