PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University indoor track and field squads completed action Saturday at the seventh annual Gorilla Classic.
Luisarys Toledo won the women's 400-meter title with a time of 54.73. It is the second-fastest time in school history in the indoor 400. Her clocking of 54.73 ranks as the third-best time in the women's 400 this season. Earlier this season, Toledo ran a personal best of 55.63.
Tiffany Hughey secured a personal best in the women's 400 meters as well with a time of 56.82. She placed 13th in Saturday's race.
Jada Shanklin captured the women's high jump crown with a leap of 5'8.75" (1.78m).
Tori Castle posted a personal best in the women's 3,000-meter race (10:39.85), as she shaved seven seconds off her previous top time. Castle placed seventh at the meet.
Kaitlin Peek earned a personal best in the women's weight throw with a toss of 45'10.5" (13.98m).
Enrico Cavagna posted a personal best in the men's 200-meter dash (21.87).
Federico Crisci ran a personal best of 48.91 in the men's 400-meter race.
Blake Morgan placed sixth in the men's high jump (2.03m).
Samuel Maldonado took eighth place in the men's 600-yard run (1:12.66).
Bailey Blake secured a ninth-place finish in the women's 800-meter race (2:13.70).
At the Ichabod Invite in Topeka, Kan., Northwest's
Caroline Cunningham ran a personal best time of 17:04.92 in the women's 5,000 meter race. She shaved 11 seconds off her previous best time in the 5,000 meters.
