The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team resumes conference play as Northeastern State and Rogers State make the trek to Bearcat Arena.

The Bearcats are seeking their first conference win of the season. Northwest enters the weekend with a record of 5-6 overall, and 0-5 in the MIAA.
 
Northwest Team Statistics
The Bearcats are averaging 61.8 points per game this season and their opponents average 63.8 points per game. Northwest is shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 31.8 percent from three, and 69.3 percent from the free throw line. Northwest forces its opponents into an average of 13.5 turnovers per game while averaging 6.7 steals per contest.
 
About Northeastern State
The Northeastern State RiverHawks are sitting at a 4-5 overall record and a 1-4 conference record. The RiverHawks last win came November 28th against Washburn as they recorded a 60-53 victory. Since that game, NSU has lost four straight matchups.

NSU averages 64.2 points per game and allows opponents an average of 63.8 points per game. The RiverHawks are ranked 11th in the MIAA in scoring offense and the Bearcats are sitting right behind them at 12th in the conference. For scoring defense, Northeastern State ranks eighth in the conference and again, the Bearcats trail them in ninth.

The RiverHawks rank third in the MIAA in team free throw percentage at 73.3 percent. In nine games they have knocked down 137 of 187 free throw attempts.

NSU is led in scoring by Courtney Lee who is averaging 14.0 ppg so far this season. The only other RiverHawk averaging double figures is Ashton Hackler with 13.8 ppg. Lee is ranked fifth in the MIAA in rebounds with 7.8 per game, ninth in free throw percentage at 77.6 percent, and 12th in blocked shots at 0.9 per game. Hackler ranks third in the conference in free throw percentage at 85.7 percent.

Dating back to the 2013-14 season, NSU has beaten Northwest seven of the 10 meetings the teams have had. The Bearcats have won three of the last four matchups and were victorious in the most recent meeting as the RiverHawks were defeated 75-55 inside Bearcat Arena.
 
About Rogers State
The Rogers State Hillcats are currently 3-8 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA. The Hillcats recorded their first conference win just before the holiday break as they defeated Northeastern State 54-45.

RSU is averaging 55.5 points per game while allowing opponents 60.7 points per game. The Hillcats have two players averaging double figures with Bailey Kliewer at 10.8 ppg and Jordan Lewis at 10.3 ppg. Rogers State is right behind Northwest in team offense at 13th in the conference, but ahead of the Bearcats in team defense as they are currently sixth in the MIAA.

The Bearcats hold a 5-0 record over the Hillcats dating back to the 2012-13 season. Last season, Northwest defeated Rogers State 67-59 at home.
 
Individual MIAA Stats
Molly Hartnett ranks first in the MIAA in free throw percentage at 90.7 percent. Hartnett also ranks 10th in assist to turnover ratio at 1.6.

Peyton Kelderman ranks fourth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 39.3 percent and is sixth in the MIAA in three-pointers per game at 2.2.

Kelsey Fields ranks third in the MIAA in rebounds with 8.7 rebounds/game.

Evelyn Vazquez is fourth in the conference in steals with 28 total and 2.2 per game.

Jayna Green ranks ninth in blocked shots with 1.1 blocks/game.

Jayna Green has worked her way up to the number two spot on Northwest's all-time career blocks list. Green sits just five blocks away from tying the record of 122 career blocks that was set by Sarah Vollertsen from 2002-04.
