Owens earns All-America honors at NCAA Championships

The Northwest Missouri State women's cross country team competed at the NCAA Div. II Cross Country Championships in University Place, Washington.
 
The women's team finished 24th place overall at the championship meet. This is the third team finish in Northwest women's cross country history.

The Bearcat women were led by Amber Owens who crossed the finish line in 28th place out of 262 competitors with a time of 21:12.2. With Owen's top-40 finish, she has earned All-America recognition in Div. II cross country. The previous two women's cross country All-American's at Northwest were Lindsey Borgstadt (1997), and Kathy Kearns (1997).
 
Caroline Cunningham was the second Northwest finisher coming in at 21:57.1 for an 89th place finish. Lydia McGlocklin finished third for the 'Cats as she recorded a time of 23:06.0 (190th). Alyna Thibault finished fourth for Northwest with a time of 23:14.9 (198th). Kaylee Harp was right behind her clocking in at 23:18.9 (202nd). The Next Northwest finisher was Cora Blaue who crossed the finish line in 23:47.9 (222nd), followed by Tori Castle with a time of 24:35.6 (250th).
