Northwest Missouri State University senior defender Letycia Bonifacio has earned her second straight spot on the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America team.

Bonifacio (Sao Paulo, Brazil notched a spot on the Scholar All-America third team this season after being named a second-teamer in 2021. Bonifacio has a 3.62 GPA in applied health: exercise science. She was named the 2022 MIAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year. She was pegged as a United Soccer Coaches Second-Team All-Region selection in becoming Northwest's first two-time United Soccer Coaches all-region honoree. She tallied First-Team All-MIAA honors as well as being named an MIAA Scholar-Athlete. She secured a spot as a D2CCA First-Team All-Region pick. Bonifacio started all 21 games as a defender for the Bearcats. She played a team-best 1,842 minutes in 2022. Bonifacio was a part of the back end of Northwest's defensive efforts that allowed 194 total shots and only 99 on-goal. Northwest produced 13 shutouts in 2022. 

​​​​​Student-athletes on this year's Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
