MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 1-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team opened its home season in fine fashion with a 92-47 triumph over the Truman State University Bulldogs.

After a Dreamer missed a three-pointer with 11:55 left in the first half, Northwest made its next eight shots of the half, which included a trio of three-pointers. Dreamer missed a three-pointer at the halftime buzzer or Northwest would not have missed a shot in the final 10:30 of the half. Northwest held a 45-26 lead at the break.

Truman State used a 9-2 run to cut the Northwest lead to 45-34 in the opening minutes of the second half. However, Northwest answered back with a commanding 30-7 spurt to give the Bearcats a 71-41 lead with 8:33 to play. The 30-7 was concluded with an 18-0 spurt by the Bearcats. Both squads emptied their benches under five minutes, but Northwest continued to score and eventually pushed the lead to 45 at 92-47.
