EDMOND, Okla. - The No. 24-ranked University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos posted a 3-0 victory over the No. 10-ranked Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team in a matchup for first place in the MIAA standings.
The Bronchos (19-2 overall, 9-2 MIAA) won by set scores of 25-21, 27-25 and 25-17. Northwest dropped its third MIAA match of the season and now sits at 12-5 overall and 6-3 in league play.
The Bronchos hit .369 for the match, while the Bearcats hit a respectable .301. UCO had 55 kills to 50 for Northwest. Northwest had 13 attack errors compared to only seven for UCO.
Payton Kirchhoefer led the Bearcats with 13 kills (.303) and secured a double-double with 10 digs.
Jaden Ferguson tallied 12 kills (.313) and
Avery Kemp contributed with 11 kills (.556).
Alyssa Rezac dished out 28 assists.
Kristen Ford posted a team-high 15 digs.
The Bearcats return to action Saturday at 3 p.m. when Northwest travels to Wichita, Kan., to take on the Newman University Jets.
