Bearcat soccer looks to add to 5 game win streak vs. MSSU and MWSU

The Northwest Missouri State soccer team looks to close out regular season play with two home matches.
 
The Bearcat soccer team will host its annual Pink Out game on Friday when they take on Missouri Southern. The first 100 fans will receive a free Pink Out shirt courtesy of Mosaic Medical Center Maryville. The team will then face Missouri Western Sunday afternoon.

History of Bearcats vs. Lions
Dating back to 2004, Northwest is 18-10 when playing Missouri Southern. The Bearcats are currently on a six game win streak against the Lions. The largest margin of victory came November 3, 2019, when Northwest secured a 4-0 win.

 Weekend Recap
In last weekends matches, there was a Northwest Soccer record broken and another player became the shutout leader in Division II. Kaylie Rock dished out her 14th career assist to make her the all-time assist leader at Northwest Missouri State. In the same game, Rock also tallied her 15th career assist. Lily Ellis recorded her 10th shutout of the season, which puts her as the sole shutout's leader in Division II this season.
 
Northwest also clinched a spot in the 2022 MIAA tournament.
 
More Records Looking to be Broken
In addition to individual accomplishments, Northwest has now won five straight matches to tie for the longest same season winning streak in school history. Last season, Northwest won five matches in a row from October 22 through November 7. The school record for consecutive wins is six set between the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Northwest won its final two games of 2008 and then won its first four games of 2009 for a six-match win streak.
 
MIAA Individual Statistical Leaders
Kaylie Rock ranks in the top five of four different statistical categories. Rock ranks 1st in points (22), 1st in assists (10), 3rd in shots (44), and 5th in shots on goal (23).

Teagan Blackburn ranks 10th in assists with 4 so far this season.

Adell Gore ranks 8th in game-winning goals with 3.

With two games left in the regular season, this year's Northwest soccer squad is currently 6th all-time in points with 73 so far. The team has 25 goals and 23 assists.

The teams 25 goals places them at 6th all-time and the 23 assists places them 3rd all-time.

This year's squad is already in the 1st place spot for shutouts in a season with 10. The previous school record of 8 was set in both the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
