ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The No. 13-ranked Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team moved its win streak to five in a row with a road sweep of the Missouri Western Griffons Tuesday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
The Bearcats (17-5 overall, 11-3 MIAA) won by set scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22. Northwest has won nine consecutive matches against Missouri Western. The Griffons dropped to 7-15 overall and 4-10 in league play.
Northwest recorded its lowest hitting percentage in a victory this season at .132 against MWSU. Northwest had a season-low 33 kills and committed 17 attack errors.
The Bearcats made up for a lower than normal hitting percentage by serving up nine service aces.
Alyssa Rezac had four service aces, while
Payton Kirchhoefer secured three aces.Â
Kirchhoefer and
Jaden Ferguson tied for team-high kill honors with eight each. Kirchhoefer secured a team-best 17 digs.
The Bearcats will be back in action Friday at home against Missouri Southern. Northwest and MSSU will take to the Bearcat Arena court at 6 p.m.
