TOP-25 MATCHUP SET FOR THURSDAY, FOLLOWED BY A SATURDAY TILT IN WICHITA
The No. 2-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team (16-1 overall, 9-0 MIAA) will face off with No. 18-ranked Central Oklahoma (15-2 overall, 10-1 MIAA) in Edmond on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Field House.
    Northwest will continue on to Wichita, Kan., for a Saturday 3:30 p.m. tip with the Newman Jets (4-10, 1-8 MIAA).

ALL-TIME VS. CENTRAL OKLA.
Northwest has controlled the series with Central Oklahoma and stakes a 16-3 lead in the all-time series between the two programs.
    Northwest is 6-0 all-time in games played in Edmond, Okla. UCO's only win over Northwest since joining the MIAA came in Maryville, Mo., on Jan. 4, 2014, when the Bronchos tallied an 81-77 triumph in Bearcat Arena.
    Northwest has won 10 straight matchups, including a 104-72 triumph in last season's MIAA Tournament semifinal game in Bearcat Arena.
    Head coach Ben McCollum is 11-1 vs. UCO.

NORTHWEST ROAD WIN STREAK SITS AT 23
Northwest has won 23 consecutive road games, which is the longest active streak among NCAA Div. II schools.
    The 23-game road win streak ranks tied for the second-longest among all NCAA divisions.
    The Bearcats have also won their last 22 consecutive MIAA road games.
    Northwest has won 39 of its last 40 road games. Northwest's last road loss came on Dec. 7, 2019 in a 72-60 decision at Central Missouri.

MIAA WIN STREAKS
Northwest has won 25 consecutive MIAA contests entering Monday's game with the Ichabods. Northwest has won 70 of its last 72 MIAA regular season games.
    Northwest has had four MIAA winning streaks of 20 or more games since the 2015-16 season.
    The Bearcats set the league record with 28 straight MIAA wins in a row from Jan. 16, 2016 through Feb. 18, 2017.
    Northwest won 22 in a row from Feb. 22, 2018 through Dec. 5, 2019.
    Following a loss on Dec. 7, 2019 to Central Missouri, Northwest ran off 23 consecutive MIAA wins from Jan. 4, 2020 through Jan. 2, 2021.
    After a loss to Washburn on Jan. 7, 2021, Northwest has now won 23 straight MIAA matchups tying it for the Bearcats's second-longest MIAA winning streak in school history.

PLAYING WITH THE LEAD
Northwest has not trailed in the second half of an MIAA game this season. In fact, Northwest has not trailed in the second half of any game since the 11:22 mark of the Missouri-St. Louis game on Nov. 19 in St. Joseph, Mo.
    Northwest is 16-0 this season when it leads at any point in the game.
    Northwest's only loss this season came vs. Sioux Falls. USF led from start to finish in an 83-77 victory over Northwest on Nov. 13 in Kansas City, Mo. Sioux Falls led by as many as 23 points (60-37 with 10:45 left in the second half) in that contest.
    Northwest's largest scoring deficit it has overcome in a win this season is nine points against the University of Saint Mary on Dec. 29 in Bearcat Arena. The Spires held a 20-11 lead with 9:15 to play in the first half before Northwest turned it around for an 85-59 victory.

Northwest has won its first nine MIAA games by an average scoring margin of +20.4 points per game.
    Central Oklahoma ranks second in the MIAA in scoring margin in league games at +17.6 through 11 league matchups. Emporia State has played 11 league games with a +10.6 scoring margin as well.
    Northwest ranks No. 9 in the nation in scoring margin at +17.8 points per game.

MCCOLLUM HAS BEARCATS DEFENSIVE
When the Bearcats hold an opponent to 59 points or less, head coach Ben McCollum has guided Northwest to a mark of 138-5 in his 13-year career.

'CATS, MCCOLLUM ROLLING IN BIG VICTORIES
Under head coach Ben McCollum the Bearcats are 126-2 in games decided by 20 points or more.
    Northwest has won 125 consecutive games when the final scoring margin is 20 or more points. The last time the Bearcats lost a game by 20 points or more came Jan. 20, 2010, when Missouri Southern posted an 88-63 win in Joplin, Missouri.

Northwest has posted a spectacular mark of 113-4 over the past four seasons and has won both of the national championships that have been contested.

Northwest captured its eighth straight MIAA regular season crown in the 2020-21 season.
    Over the last nine seasons, Northwest has compiled a league mark of 151-16.

NEW 40-MINUTE MAN
Bearcat redshirt freshman Daniel Abreu played the first 40-minute game of his collegiate career Wednesday at Fort Hays State.
    A trio of Bearcats played all 40 minutes in the win over Fort Hays State - Abreu, Wes Dreamer and Trevor Hudgins.
    Five current Bearcat have played at least one game of 40 minutes or more in their careers. Hudgins leads the way with 39 career games of 40 minutes or more.

DREAMER SETTLES IN AS SECOND SCORER
Sophomore Wes Dreamer ranks second on the squad at 14.2 points per game. He leads the Bearcats in rebounding (5.8 per game).
    Dreamer is shooting 50.0% from the field (80-of-160) and 45.2% from three-point range (47-of-104). He is shooting 89.5% at the free throw line (17-of-19).
    Dreamer has scored in double figures in eight of Northwest's nine MIAA contests this season.

WATERS UPPING HIS PLAY IN MIAA ACTION
Sophomore Luke Waters is shooting 66.0% from the field and averaing 10.1 points per game in MIAA action this season. Waters has made 31-of-47 field goal attempts in league play.


JACKSON'S SHOOTING PERCENTAGE SIZZLES
In MIAA play, redshirt freshman Isaiah Jackson is shooting 73.3% from the floor. He has made 22-of-30 field goal in nine league games. Jackson is averaging 6.3 points per game in MIAA play.
    Jackson snared a career-high seven rebounds in Northwest's 71-63 win at Washburn.

Junior guard Trevor Hudgins notched his 13th career 30-point scoring game against Nebraska-Kearney
    Hudgins posted 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor.
    It is Hudgins's fifth 30-point scoring game this season as he posted 30 against Missouri-St. Louis (11/19), 38 vs. Missouri Western (12/18), 40 vs. Rogers State (12/4) and 38 vs. Saint Mary (12/29)

3-POINT GAME RECORD GOES DOWN AGAIN
For the third time this season the Bearcat single-game record for three-pointers has been either matched or broken. Trevor Hudgins matched his own school record with 11 made three-pointers against Saint Mary on Dec. 29.
    Hudgins buried 11 three-pointers against Rogers State to set the mark that had been tied by Wes Dreamer against Briar Cliff when he knocked in 10 from behind the arc.

HUDGINS ATOP NORTHWEST'S ASSIST CHART
Trevor Hudgins took over as Northwest's all-time career assist leader in its win over Lincoln. Hudgins has dished out 606 career assists. Hudgins passed Justin Pitts, who recorded 575 assists to set the previous mark.

HUDGINS SETS MIAA RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE FTS
Junior guard Trevor Hudgins set the MIAA record for consecutive free throws made at 48 in a row.
    Hudgins missed his final attempt on Saturday at Nebraska-Kearney after making his first seven attempts of the game. His streak of 48 in a row began Nov. 23 against Truman State.
    Hudgins has made 74-of-79 free throw attempts for 93.7% this season.
    Northern Kentucky's Paul Claxton holds the all-time NCAA Division II record with 94 consecutive free throw makes.

BEARCATS RETURN TO PLAY WITH 14-POINT WIN AT FHSU
Northwest had paused play for one week because of COVID-19 protocols after its Jan. 1 win over Pittsburg State. Northwest returned to play Jan. 12 and posted a 74-60 road win over Fort Hays State.

HUDGINS CLAIMS 3RD MIAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONOR THIS SEASON
For the third time this season and 10th time in his career, Trevor Hudgins has been named the MIAA's men's basketball athlete of the week.
    Hudgins tied his own single-game school record with 11 made three-pointers as he tallied 38 points in a non-conference win over Saint Mary (Kan.). Hudgins went 13-of-19 from the field, including 11-of-17 from three-point land, in securing his fourth 30-point scoring game of the season. Hudgins handed out two assists, grabbed two rebounds and tallied two steals as he played 35 minutes against the Spires.

NORTHWEST SETS SINGLE-GAME SHOOTING MARK
In its last game before the holiday break, Northwest shot a single-game school record 72.9% from the field in a 101-63 thrashing of Missouri Western.
    The Bearcats drained 35-of-48 field goals, including 20-of-25 (80%) in the second half.
    The previous school record for highest field goal percentage in a game came against Lindenwoon on Feb. 4, 2017, when the Bearcats shot 67.9% from the floor in a 89-64 victory in St. Charles, Mo.

ABREU TALLIES CAREER-HIGH OFF THE BENCH
Redshirt freshman Daniel Abreu contributed a career-high 26 points off the bench in less than 20 minutes of action in Northwest's 84-54 road triumph at Lincoln.
    Abreu went 9-of-11 from the field and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds.

HUDGINS CAPTURES 2ND MIAA POW HONORS
After pouring in a career-high 40 points and setting the Northwest Missouri State University single-game three-point field goals made mark (11), junior point guard Trevor Hudgins has been named the MIAA's men's basketball athlete of the week.
    It is the second time this season, and ninth time in his career, Hudgins has been honored with the MIAA's top weekly honor.
    Hudgins averaged 33.0 points per game and shot 57.1% from the field, including 58.6% from three-point land in leading Northwest to a 2-0 start to MIAA play.
    Hudgins tallied a career-high 40 points and set the Northwest single-game three-point record by making 11 threes against the Hillcats. Hudgins played nearly 33 minutes against the Hillcats on Saturday and was 13-of-21 from the floor. He was 11-of-18 from three-point range. Hudgins also handed out five assists vs. Rogers State.
    On Thursday night, Hudgins scored a game-high 26 points on 7-of-14 shooting vs. Northeastern State. Hudgins made 6-of-11 three-pointers vs. NSU.
    Over the two games, Hudgins also sank all nine of his free throw attempts.

GETTING OFF TO A POSITIVE START IN MIAA PLAY
Northwest has won its MIAA opener in each of the last 11 seasons. Bearcat head coach Ben McCollum is 11-2 in MIAA openers.

BEARCATS HIT A SCHOOL-RECORD 22 THREES
Northwest sank a single game school-record 22 three-pointers in its 98-66 win over Briar Cliff.
    The previous mark of 20 had been set against Manhattan Christian on Nov. 19, 2004.
    Northwest also set its team single-game record for three-pointers attempted (41) against Briar Cliff. The previous mark of 39 was set against Emporia State on Jan. 9, 2019.
    The 22 made threes is the second-best performance this year by a Division II team. Southeastern Oklahoma State made 23 three-pointers vs. Arlington Baptist on Nov. 17.

BEARCATS ALWAYS SEEM TO BOUNCE BACK
Northwest dropped its first game of the season to Sioux Falls, 83-77, but promptly bounced back and scored a 75-52 win over Arkansas-Monticello at the Central Region Challenge held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
    Northwest has played 204 games since last losing back to back games. Northwest's last back-to-back losses came Dec. 18/Dec. 20 2015 at Lincoln and at Lindenwood.

RARE NON-CONF REGULAR SEASON LOSS
Northwest suffered its first non-conference regular season loss for the first time in nearly six years in Sioux Falls pulled off the 83-77 victory in Kansas City.
    Prior to the loss to the Cougars, Northwest's last regular season non-conference loss came at No. 1-ranked Augustana on Nov. 19, 2015.

LESS THAN 50
Northwest improved to 31-2 when holding the opposition to 50 points or less under head coach Ben McCollum following a 77-46 triumph over Flagler in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

41 FREE THROW ATTEMPTS
Northwest attempted 41 free throws in its 64-59 win over No. 21-ranked Seattle Pacific. It was the most free throws attempted since also getting 41 free throw tries against Missouri Southern on March 1, 2007.
    Northwest connected on 29-of-41 at the free throw line against Seattle Pacific. Junior guard Trevor Hudgins led the way by making 15-of-16 at the charity stripe.

SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Northwest had both Trevor Hudgins and Wes Dreamer named to the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament team.
    Hudgins posted back-to-back 20-point scoring games with 22 against Northern State and 27 vs. Seattle Pacific.
