Northwest Missouri State University head tennis coach Mark Rosewell has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 2021 Men's Tennis NCAA Division II Central Region Coach of the Year.

It marks the seventh ITA region coach of the year award for Rosewell. He has captured the region award two times for women and five times for the men.

Rosewell guided the Northwest men to a final No. 1 ranking in the Central Region. The Bearcat men's tennis squad captured the Central Region title and advanced to the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Rosewell produced a men's All-America selection in freshman Andrea Zamurri in 2020-21. Zamurri capped his season at No. 3 in the ITA's national singles rankings with a record of 18-2 overall. Zamurri also claimed the No. 1 singles ranking in the Central Region. Zamurri was named the MIAA's Player of the Year and the league's Freshman of the Year awards.

Rosewell completed his 37th year at the helm of the Bearcat tennis programs and has achieved 40 combined NCAA Tournament appearances on women's and men's side of the net. Rosewell has tallied 1,141 victories at Northwest (1,163 total NCAA Division II coaching victories). The Northwest women's team made its 19th NCAA Tournament appearance under Rosewell in 2021. The Bearcat women are 581-284 under Rosewell, winning 12 MIAA regular season titles and one MIAA Tournament title. The Bearcat men's team has advanced to the NCAA Tournament 21 times. Northwest has advanced to the Round of 16 eight times since 2006 and made it to the Round of Eight in 2014, 2016 and 2021. The Bearcat men have won 14 MIAA regular season titles and all nine tournament titles under Rosewell. Northwest is 560-263 all time in men's play under Rosewell.
