The Northwest Missouri State track and field team had four top-two finishes Sunday afternoon at the Loper Twilight #2 at Kearney High School.
This "Last Chance" meet was moved up an hour to a 2 p.m. start due to inclement weather in the area. Including Saturday's Loper Twilight #1 meet, 25 different schools from NCAA Division I and II, and the NAIA were represented this weekend.Â
Caelon Harkey and
Blake Morgan had the two lone first-place finishes on the day. Harkey took gold in the men's 400m dash in a personal best time of :47.27. Morgan won the men's high jump with a personal best 2.09m (6-10.25).Â
Tyrell Maddox was second in the 400m dash, also running a personal best in :47.46.
Federico Crisci took eighth in the 800m run in 1:56.43 and
Tucker Dahle was ninth in the 400m hurdles (:59.00).
Josh Warner was 11th in the discus with a mark of 45.09m (147-11).Â
On the women's side,
Kaylee Harp took second place in the women's 400m dash with a personal best :57.36.
Jada Shanklin rounded out top-three finishers with a third place finish in the high jump (1.68m, 5-06).
Hiba Mahgoub finished fourth in the women's 100m dash in :11.68 while
Delanie Dykes (2:21.56) and
Caroline Cunningham (2:23.48) were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the women's 800m run.Â
Josie Zieger finished fifth in the javelin in 36.93m (121-02) and
Addie Palser was seventh in 33.83m (111-00).Â
The selections for the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be announced this week and will be held May 27-29 in Allendale, Michigan.
