No. 18 Bearcats to close out home volleyball season

The No. 18-ranked Northwest Missouri State University volleyball squad will close out its home spring season Friday and Saturday against Fort Hays State and No. 10-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.

Admission is $5 for Northwest home volleyball matches. All those who attend Northwest volleyball home matches will fall under the University's mask mandate and must maintain social distance in Bearcat Arena.
 
The Bearcats are 10-2 overall and 4-2 in the MIAA North standings. The Bearcats have won four straight matches entering this weekend's slate.
 
Fort Hays State is 3-7 overall and 0-6 in MIAA North matches. The Tigers have lost three straight matches entering Friday.
 
Nebraska-Kearney is 12-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in MIAA North contests. UNK enters Friday's contest at Missouri Western with an eight-match win streak.
 
The MIAA Spring Tournament is set for April 16-17 in Topeka, Kansas, and teams are vying for seeding heading into the final weekend of regular season play. The bracket will be set following the completion of play late Saturday night.
 
Northwest's seeding possibilities range from No. 1 all the way to No. 6 depending upon the match results from Friday and Saturday. All 11 MIAA teams will qualify for the tournament. However, the top five seeds will receive a bye into the quarterfinals while teams six through 11 will play an opening round match to reach the quarterfinals.
