ST. JOSEPH, Missouri - The No. 18-ranked Northwest Missouri State University performed a 3-0 sweep of the Missouri Western State University Griffons Saturday at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
Northwest (10-2 overall, 4-2 MIAA North) won by set scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-20.
The Bearcats were led by the hitting of
Jaden Ferguson and
Payton Kirchhoefer with 13 kills each. Ferguson hit .355 with only two attack errors, while Korchhoefer hit .159 with six attack errors.
Maddy Ahrens headed the attack with 36 assists.Â
Hannah Koechl recorded a match-high 26 digs and
Bethany Elkins led the 'Cats with three blocks.
The Bearcats will wrap up the spring regular season next weekend with a pair of home matches. Northwest will take on Fort Hays State Friday at 6 p.m. in Bearcat Arena. Northwest will then match up with Nebraska-Kearney Saturday at 3 p.m. in Bearcat Arena.
