The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat softball team takes to the road one last time for the regular season as they travel to Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State this weekend. First pitch against the Lions is set for 2 p.m. on Friday.
 
The Bearcats are currently 16-18 on the season and 10-12 in conference play. The Lions are 24-13-1 overall and 15-6-1 in the MIAA while Pittsburg State is 15-25 and 9-13 in MIAA matchups. Against Missouri Southern, Northwest is 58-60-1 overall and 15-19-1 in Joplin. The Lions have won the last three matchups and five of the last six. The Bearcats are tied 38-38 all-time against the Gorillas, but PSU leads the series 16-14 in Pittsburg. The Gorillas have won the last three matchups, but the Bearcats had won seven games in a row against PSU between Apr. 10, 2015 and Apr. 5, 2018.
 
The Bearcats have five players who are posting batting averages over .300 and five players with an on base percentage above .350. Kaitlyn Weis, Olivia Daugherty, Abby Nolte, and Grace Jeffries also each have slugging percentages of .500 or above.
 
Weis is currently second in the NCAA Division II's active career leaders for home runs. Weis has homered 55 times, sitting behind only Brenna Busby (Cameron, 56). She has homered 12 times this season.
