The Northwest Missouri State softball team lost their second game to Minnesota Duluth, 14-7, in the Pitt State Classic.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after the first two innings, only for the Bearcats to rally back and take the 7-6 lead in the top of the fifth. Kaitlyn Weis singled to shortstop in the inning, but the Bearcats could not get another hit to start a comeback.Â
Weis led Northwest at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Weis and
Abby Nolte each hit home runs in the game as well with Nolte picking up 3 RBI in the process.
Hannah Blackford,
Jacee Winn, and
Ady Watts each recorded one hit while
Olivia Daugherty,
Avery Anderson, Blackford, and Winn scored runs.Â
The Bearcats will face Rockhurst in their final game at the Pitt State Classic.Â
