HAYS, Kansas - The No. 17-ranked Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team recorded a 3-1 victory at Fort Hays State University Saturday in Gross Coliseum.
Northwest won by set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-16.
Head coach
Amy Woerth praised her team for its play in the 3-1 road win.
"I thought our middles did a great job getting kills allowing our pins to get splits," Woerth said. "We weathered the storm of Fort Hays' in -system passing which kept them in their fast offensive system. We had moments when our servers disrupted their passers but we need to step up our serving game in those situations. I was able to utilize the depth of our bench this weekend and I'm proud of how well that went. We're looking forward to practice next week so we can continue to improve our game."
The Bearcats move to 5-1 overall and the Tigers drop to 2-4 this spring.
Northwest will be at home Wednesday at 6 p.m. vs. Missouri Western.
