NORTHWEST RETURNS TO BEARCAT ARENA FOR RIVALRY GAME
After playing three games on the road, the Bearcats are ready to return home to Bearcat Arena for their rivalry matchup against Missouri Western. Northwest edged the Griffons, 51-50, in a Dec. 12 contest as Molly Hartnett's layup with 2.4 seconds left in the game lifted the Bearcats to their first victory in St. Joseph in nine years.

Northwest is 29-42 against the Griffons and 20-17 at home. The Bearcats are 5-5 in the last 10 contests played in Bearcat Arena with the last win coming on Jan. 27, 2018 in a 56-53 narrow Northwest victory.

ABOUT THE GRIFFONS (3-9)
The Griffons are currently 12th in the conference and average 60.1 ppg (12th in MIAA) while their scoring defense (69.7 ppg) ranks 11th in the MIAA. Missouri Western has shot 37.9 percent from the floor, 28.3 percent from three-point range, and 66.1 percent from free throw line.
 
Sophomore Logan Hughes leads the Griffon offense with 8.6 ppg while freshman Camille Evans contributes 7.1 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Evans has also dished out 28 assists and recorded 19 steals on the season. Junior Asia McCoy has pulled down 59 rebounds (4.9 rpg) and recorded 12 blocks as well.
 
LAST TIME VS. MISSOURI WESTERN
Northwest pulled out a 51-50 victory over Missouri Western on Dec. 12, their last game before a COVID-19 pause and Christmas break. Molly Hartnett led the Bearcats with 18 points in the victory, including the go-ahead layup with 2.4 seconds left in the game. Mallory McConkey also chipped in 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor and four rebounds. Mia Stillman shot 3-of-7 from three-point land to score nine points while also pulling down five rebounds in the victory. Both teams shot 18-for-48 from the floor (37.5 percent) in the close contest while the Griffons outrebounded the Bearcats 40-25.

HAGGARD MAKES NATIONAL IMPRESSION
Senior guard Jaelyn Haggard ranks third among NCAA Division II active career leaders in three-point field goals made. Haggard has currently sank 236 career triples. Belmont Abbey's Maria Kuhlman leads Division II with 306 three-pointers while Sierra Kotchman of Fairmont State is second with 291 made triples.
