The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's track and field teams are set to take on their first road trip of the indoor season as they travel to the Ichabod Invitational. After running their first four meets of the season in Hughes Fieldhouse, the Bearcats are eager to continue their success on the road.
Earlier this week USTFCCCA released new national rankings, with the men's team moving back up to fifth and the women slated at 20
th.
Delanie Dykes has had a strong season so far, running provisional qualifying times in the 800m run and mile, while also helping the women's distance medley relay to a provisional qualifying time. The team of
Caroline Cunningham,
Tiffany Hughey,
Bailey Blake, and Dykes ran a NCAA Division II second-ranked time of 11:51.82 at the Bearcat Open.
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Caelon Harkey,
Gavyn Monday,
R.J. Williams, and
Omar Austin owns the fastest time in the event for NCAA DII with their run of 3:10.37. Austin also has the third fastest 400m dash time (47.24s) in DII. Monday ranks sixth in the event with a time of 47.93 seconds.
Jacob Norris has the seventh best time in the DII mile this season with 4:07.68.
Field events will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the 3,000m run leading off running events at noon.
