'CATS TRAVEL TO LINCOLN, UCM FOR MIAA ROAD GAMES
The No. 2-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team (8-1 overall, 2-0 MIAA) will take its six-game winning streak on the road to take on Lincoln and Central Missouri.
Northwest will match up against the Lincoln Blue Tigers (1-5 overall, 0-1 MIAA Saturday at 3 p.m. at Jason Gymnasium in Jefferson City, Mo.
The Bearcats will then travel to Warrensburg, Mo., to take on the University of Central Missouri Mules (4-1 overall, 1-0 MIAA). Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the UCM Multipurpose Building.

Northwest holds a 54-30 lead in the all-time series vs. Lincoln. Northwest has won 14 straight games against Lincoln.

HUDGINS CAPTURES 2ND MIAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After pouring in a career-high 40 points and setting the Northwest Missouri State University single-game three-point field goals made mark (11), junior point guard
Trevor Hudgins has been named the MIAA's men's basketball athlete of the week.
It is the second time this season, and ninth time in his career, Hudgins has been honored with the MIAA's top weekly honor.
Hudgins averaged 33.0 points per game and shot 57.1% from the field, including 58.6% from three-point land in leading Northwest to a 2-0 start to MIAA play.
Hudgins tallied a career-high 40 points and set the Northwest single-game three-point record by making 11 threes against the Hillcats. Hudgins played nearly 33 minutes against the Hillcats on Saturday and was 13-of-21 from the floor. He was 11-of-18 from three-point range. Hudgins also handed out five assists vs. Rogers State.
On Thursday night, Hudgins scored a game-high 26 points on 7-of-14 shooting vs. Northeastern State. Hudgins made 6-of-11 three-pointers vs. NSU.
Over the two games, Hudgins also sank all nine of his free throw attempts.

Ben McCollum secured his 300th coaching victory in Northwest's 80-54 win over West Texas A&M in the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship game.
In his 13th season at the helm of the Bearcat program, McCollum has led Northwest to a record of 308-79.

TREVOR EARNS MIAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS
Junior guard
Trevor Hudgins has been named the MIAA men's basketball athlete of the week.
It is the first time this season, and eighth time in his career, Hudgins has been honored with the MIAA's top weekly honor.
The Manhattan, Kan., native knocked in nine three-pointers and secured his eighth career 30-point game in leading No. 1-ranked Northwest to a 78-65 win over a previously unbeaten Missouri St. Louis squad at the Hillyard Classic in St. Joseph, Mo.

BEARCATS HIT A SCHOOL-RECORD 22 THREES
Northwest sank a single game school-record 22 three-pointers in its 98-66 win over Briar Cliff.
The previous mark of 20 had been set against Manhattan Christian on Nov. 19, 2004.
Northwest also set its team single-game record for three-pointers attempted (41) against Briar Cliff. The previous mark of 39 was set against Emporia State on Jan. 9, 2019.
The 22 made threes is the second-best performance this year by a Division II team. Southeastern Oklahoma State made 23 three-pointers vs. Arlington Baptist on Nov. 17.
BEARCATS ALWAYS SEEM TO BOUNCE BACK
Northwest dropped its first game of the season to Sioux Falls, 83-77, but promptly bounced back and scored a 75-52 win over Arkansas-Monticello at the Central Region Challenge held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
Northwest has played 195 games since last losing back to back games. Northwest's last back-to-back losses came Dec. 18/Dec. 20 2015 at Lincoln and at Lindenwood.
RARE NON-CONFERENCE
REGULAR SEASON LOSS
Northwest suffered its first non-conference regular season loss for the first time in nearly six years in Sioux Falls pulled off the 83-77 victory in Kansas City.
Prior to the loss to the Cougars, Northwest's last regular season non-conference loss came at No. 1-ranked Augustana on Nov. 19, 2015.

COMING FROM BEHIND
Northwest had to climb out of a pair of deficits to defeat both No. 15 Northern State and No. 21 Seattle Pacific at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic.
Northern State had an eight-point first-half lead against Northwest before the Bearcats charged back. Northwest trailed by four at the half, 30-26, but stormed back with a 42-25 scoring advantage in the final 20 minutes.
Seattle Pacific held a seven-point lead in the first half against Northwest at 12-5. Northwest used a 14-0 run to take the look and never trailed again.
