The Lincoln women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season against Northwest Missouri State in a 72-46 victory.
While the Bearcats jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the first period, the Blue Tigers quickly fought their way back into the game. After a back and forth battle, the Blue Tigers claimed a 14-12 lead to go into the second quarter.

Jayna Green in the second quarter. The second quarter was much like the first with both teams putting up low offensive numbers, but the Blue Tigers still maintained a three-point lead going into the halftime break.
The Blue Tigers took advantage in the third period and extended their lead to 10 points with just 1:30 to go in the period. Niyah Jackson led Lincoln with seven points in the quarter to take a 46-35 lead into the final period.
Mallory McConkey, Northwest's leading scorer at halftime, was limited due to foul trouble in the third quarter and fouled out with 9:09 remaining in the game. AJ Bradley scored 10 of her game-high 25 points in the period. Lincoln also stretched its lead to 24 points with two minutes to play.
The Bearcats will look ahead to Saturday's match up with Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
NOTES:
Molly Hartnett led the Bearcats with 21 points … Hartnett went 7-for-7 from the free throw line and has made 10 free throws in a row … this is the Bearcats' first lost to Lincoln since their Feb. 19, 2019, matchup in Jefferson City … Northwest leads the series 39-10 in all-time contests with the Blue Tigers.
