MANKATO, Minnesota – The Northwest Missouri State University softball team fell 4-3 to Lewis University Saturday.
The Flyers went up 2-0 in the first two innings to grab an early lead over the Bearcats.
The Bearcats answered in the bottom of the third inning with back-to-back homers from
Sydne Brashear and
Kaitlyn Weis to tie the game at 2-2.
Lewis scored two more runs in the top of the sixth inning to take back the lead, 4-2.
In the bottom of the seventh inning,
Olivia Daugherty hit a sacrifice fly to center to score
Grace Jeffries, but it wasn't enough to catch back up to the Flyers.
The Bearcats fell 4-3 to Lewis University and move to 2-1 on the season so far.
NOTES: Brashear and Weis hit their first home runs of the season against Lewis.
