RIVALRY GAME
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats (11-15 overall, 6-11 MIAA) face the Missouri Western Griffons (19-7 overall, 11-6 MIAA) on the road on Tuesday. The Bearcats lost the first matchup at home 71-53. Missouri Western leads the all time series 42-29. 

MIAA MADNESS
Northwest is one win away or a Newman loss away from clinching a spot in the MIAA Tournament. The Bearcats are looking to qualify for the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. It would also mark the first time since 2013 that the Bearcats will have qualified to play a game in Kansas City as a part of the MIAA Tournament.

The Bearcats rank No. 3 in the country in free throw percentage at 80.0%. The Bearcats have seven players shooting 75% or higher from the charity stripe. Jaelyn Haggard is tops on the team having made 19-of-20 free throws (95%).

CLOSE CALL
The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team lost a hard-fought game to the Pittsburg State Gorillas in 77-76 in overtime. The Gorillas forced overtime by hitting a three at the buzzer of regulation to tie the game up 66-66. The Bearcats missed a contested jumper at the end of overtime.
