REMATCH WEEK
The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team (11-13 overall, 6-9 MIAA) will match up Thursday against the Missouri Southern Lions (8-15 overall, 5-10 MIAA). Missouri Southern knocked off Northwest in Joplin last Thursday, 67-61. Then they will face the Pittsburg State Gorillas (14-9 overall, 10-5 MIAA) on Saturday. The Bearcats fell to the Gorillas 60-54 last Saturday. 

MIAA MADNESS
Northwest is one win away or a Newman loss away from clinching a spot in the MIAA Tournament. The Bearcats are looking to qualify for the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2017, when 12 teams qualified for the postseason tournament. It would also mark the first time since 2013 that the Bearcats will have qualified to play a game in Kansas City as a part of the MIAA Tournament.

LET FREE THROWS RING
The Bearcats rank No. 7 in the country in free throw percentage at 79.2%. The Bearcats have seven players shooting 75% or higher from the charity stripe. Jaelyn Haggard is tops on the team having made 19-of-20 free throws (95%).

MCCONKEY MAGIC
Junior Mallory McConkey posted scoring performances of 19 at Missouri Southern and a career-high 27 at Pittsburg State. McConkey is averaging a team-best 14.0 ppg in MIAA play this season.

PROTECTING THE HOME COURT
Northwest has equaled its highest win total in Bearcat Arena in the last five years. Northwest also won five home games in 2015-16 and in 2016-17. Northwest posted seven home wins in the 2014-15 campaign.
