SEASON OPENER
The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team travels to Tahlequah, Oklahoma to open the season against the Northeastern State Riverhawks. On Saturday, the team travels to Claremore, Oklahoma to take on the Rogers State Hillcats at 1:30 p.m.

FREE THROWS FALLING
The Bearcats finished the 2019-20 season ranked fifth in free throw percentage in Division II. Seniors Jaelyn Haggard (90.9%) and Kylie Coleman (90.2%) look to continue their strong performances from the charity stripe in 2020-21.

WINS ON THE RISE
In the Austin Meyer coaching era, Northwest's win percentage has increase by 10% each year. After winning 8 games in 2018-19, the Bearcats finished with 12 wins in 2019-20 with five of their losses coming by a scoring margin of 10 points or less.

PRESEASON POLLS
In the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, the Bearcats were picked to finish ninth in the conference. This is the highest preseason pick for Northwest in eight years.

1,000 POINT WATCH
Jaelyn Haggard enters the season with 990 career points after averaging 10.4 ppg. If she can continue finding ways to score in 2020-21, she will be the 27th Bearcat women's basketball player to reach the 1,000 point milestone and could work her way up in the career scoring rankings.

POSSIBLE FUTURE RECORDS
Jaelyn Haggard currently holds the made 3-point field goal record with 205 3-pointers made with a season to play. Kylie Coleman will also look to make her way on the list just 27 behind Lauren Williams' 106 3-pointers made. Haggard also currently sits third in career FT percentage at 82.2%. Coleman (81.5%, 66-81) could also find a way into the top five if she meets the minimum 100 attempt requirement.

NEWCOMERS
The Bearcat women's basketball roster features three freshmen this year: Jillian Fleming, Molly Hartnett, and Caely Kesten
