MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team defeated the Rogers State Hillcats 63-48 in their fourth MIAA game this season. The Bearcats are now 3-1 in the MIAA, which is tied for fourth in the conference. This is the second straight conference game that the Bearcats held their opponent under 50 points, the last time they achieved this feat since February 2014. The Bearcats had 11 blocks on the game, including
Jayna Green swatting five shots, which is tied for seventh in Northwest history.
The Bearcats were led in scoring by
Kendey Eaton with 15, followed by
Paityn Rau with 12 and
Mallory McConkey and
Kylie Coleman with 10 each.
Mia Stillman led the Bearcats with seven rebounds and
Erika Schlosser led the team with 4 assists. The Bearcats shot only 39% from the field, but were an impressive 16-17 from the free-throw line. Northwest outrebounded Rogers State 35-25.
The Hillcats were led by Alicia Brown and Julie Luna with 12 points each. Bailey Kliewer, Vanessa Gadjosova, and Darian Jackson each had 5 rebounds. The Bearcats held the Hillcats to six assists in the matchup.
Northwest will be back in action Thursday Jan. 9, on the road against Emporia State beginning at 5:30 p.m.
