Bearcats face two tough tests at home this weekend

EVEN SERIES
Northwest looks to take the lead in the all-time series versus UNK with a win on Thursday. The series is tied at 6-6 currently, after the Bearcats 74-62 victory in Kearney last season. UNK is tied for third in the conference with a 6-2 MIAA record, and a 17-2 record overall. 

BATTLE OF THE CATS
In their second matchup of the weekend the Bearcats will take on the Fort Hays State University who is tied with UNK for third in the conference with a 6-2 MIAA record and a 15-2 overall record. Fort Hays is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings of these teams and 13-10 overall. 

LOCKDOWN
Northwest is ranked No. 18 in the country in scoring defense by holding opponents to 54.8 points per game. That mark is good for the third best scoring defense in the MIAA as well, 0.1 points behind Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays at 54.7. 

LET FREE THROWS RING
The Bearcats rank No. 1 in the country in free throw percentage at 82.3%. The Bearcats have seven players shooting 75% or higher from the charity stripe. Kylie Coleman is tops on the team having made 27-of-28 free throws (95.7%).

MIDDLE OF THE PACK
The Bearcats currently sit at eighth in the  MIAA at 3-4. Three of the Bearcats three losses came to top five teams in the conference (Central Missouri, Missouri Western, and Emporia State). Northwest will play the other two teams in the top five this weekend.  

BEARCATS FEELING 22
With their 62-40 defeat of the RiverHawks, the Bearcats marked two conference wins by 22 or more points for the first time since the 2006-07 season and the first time in the regular season since 2003-04.
