ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The No. 6-ranked Washington (Mo.) Bears scored a 6-3 win over the No. 49-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team in dual action on Saturday.
Northwest's
Bjorn Kurtze tallied two of the Bearcats's three wins on the day. Kurtze teamed with
Pedro Pontes at No. 2 doubles to score a 9-7 victory over WashU's Ethan Hillis and J.J. Kroot.
Kurtze secured a three-set win at No. 4 single with a victory over WashU's Konroad Kozlowski, 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-4).
Martin Sanchez recorded Northwest's third point of the day with a three-set triumph of his own at No. 5 singles. Sanchez defeated WashU's Koki Takabatake.
WashU moves to 16-5 overall, while Northwest drops to 10-10 on the season.
