The Green squad edged the White team in Northwest Missouri State's annual spring game at Bearcat Stadium on Thursday night.
The White squad jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. Junior college transfer
Imoni Donadelle caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from
Jadyn Kowalski with 8:45 left in the opening quarter.
Parker Sampson added a 44-yard field goal to up the lead to 10 points with 5:35 left in the opening stanza.
The Green squad began its comeback in the third quarter when
Isaiah Strayhorn scored on a 14-yard touchdown run with 8:30 left in the quarter.
Braden Wright connected with
Gus Gomez for a touchdown on a third-and-goal from the 7-yard line with 13:10 to give the Green team a 14-10 lead.
Northwest will open the 2019 season Thurs., Sept. 5, at Missouri Western. The Bearcats home opener is set for Sat., Sept. 14, at 1:30 p.m. against the Washburn Ichabods.
