HOME OPENER
The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team (1-1 overall) will face the Kansas Christian Falcons (1-2 overall) in their first home game this year. The Bearcats look to improve on their streak of three straight home-opening wins.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Northwest defeated the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles, 66-64, to go 1-1 in the Nebraska-Kearney Tournament.
Kendey Eaton hit two free throws to put Northwest up 66-64 with five seconds left. The Golden Eagles missed a contested look to tie on their final possession.Â
Eaton led the Bearcats with 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting and 2-of-4 from behind the three-point line. She also went 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Erika Schlosser and Jaelyn Haggard joined Eaton in double figures for the Bearcats. Schlosser had 11 points, including three three-pointers. Haggard scored 10 including three three-pointers. Zoie Hayward led the team with seven rebounds. The Bearcats had eight turnovers in the game which was six less than the Golden Eagles. The Bearcats went 11-of-27 from behind the arc, and 7-of-8 from the foul line.Â
NEUTRAL SITE WIN
The Bearcats win over the Golden Eagles marked the first neutral site win since November 24, 2018 against St. Mary (Kan.) in the MWSU Thanksgiving Classic, 73-23. Schlosser was the leading scorer in that game with 17 points, and went 5-of-5 from three-point land.Â
