EMPORIA, Kansas - The Emporia State University Hornets secured a 4-0 victory over the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat women's soccer team on Sunday.
Emporia State's Hannah Woolery put the Hornets on the board with a goal in the 26th minute.
Mackenzie Dimarco found the back of the net for the Hornets right before the half to push the lead to 2-0 over the Bearcats.
Dimarco's momentum continued in the second half with another goal that increased the Hornets' lead to 3-0.
Daniela Cardona scored one in during the 79th minute to seal the win, 4-0.
Emporia State moves to 8-2-0 on the season, while Northwest drops to 3-6-1.
The Bearcats will return home Oct. 11 to face Nebraska-Kearney starting at 3 p.m. They will also face Fort Hays State Oct. 13 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Bearcat Pitch.
NOTES: Northwest had possession of the ball for 48% of the time against Emporia State ... goalkeeper Grace Goetsch recorded eight saves against the Hornets ... Kaitlyn Case leads the team with five goals on the season … Teagan Blackburn has three goals and Alex Mausbach is right behind her with two goals.
