MARYVILLE, Missouri – The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team battled through two overtimes that resulted in a 1-1 tie against the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers Friday afternoon at the Bearcat Pitch.
Manuela Gonzalez found the back of the net late in the first half to put the Bearcats on the board.
Tanith Beal assisted on the goal.
Nebraska-Kearney's Cammie Davis netted one in with less than three minutes left in the second half to tie the score 1-1.
The Bearcats and Lopers battled through two scoreless overtime sessions.
The Bearcats move to 3-6-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
The Bearcats return to the Bearcat Pitch Sunday to host Fort Hays State beginning at 1 p.m. The Bearcats will celebrate Soctoberfest on Sunday with free root beer floats served while supplies last.
NOTES:
Manuela Gonzalez recorded her second goal of the season against the Lopers. The Bearcats had possession of the ball 55% of the time and took 21 shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Alexis Serna Castillo recorded seven saves against the Lopers.
