KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The Rockhurst University Hawks used two goals in the final 16 minutes to post a 2-1 victory over the Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team on Sunday.
Northwest (1-1 overall) scored in the final minute of play with 39 seconds left on a goal from
Mollie Holtman. It was Holtman's second goal of the season and sixth of her Bearcat career. She was assisted on the goal by
Emily Madden. Holtman's goal came from 12 yards out on the back right.
Rockhurst (1-0-1 overall) tallied the first goal of the contest with 15:48 left on the clock when Stephanie Ostrander knocked in a rebound shot off the inside right post. Ostrander scored five minutes later with 10:22 left in the match as she kicked in a pass from McKenna Leetch inside the right post from three yards out.
Northwest will be back in action Friday at 4 p.m. at home against Truman State University.
