THIS WEEK'S GAME
The Northwest Missouri State football team will take on the Missouri Southern Lions as a part of Family Weekend. The Bearcats and Lions will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

HONORING COACH T
Northwest Missouri State and the National Football Foundation will honor 2018 College Football Hall of Fame inductee Mel Tjeerdsma at halftime of Saturday's game. During the NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes, each member of the class returns to his alma mater or college where he coached to accept a Hall of Fame plaque.

In honor of Coach Scott Bostwick, fans are encouraged to keep with the Family Weekend tradition of wearing red hats to the football game. 

LOOKING TO MOVE TO 3-0
Northwest will be looking to improve to 3-0 for the sixth straight season. Since 1996, Northwest has begun a season 3-0 on 12 occasions.

WRIGHT NAMED MIAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Redshirt freshman quaterback Braden Wright (Elkhorn, Neb.) was named the MIAA offensive player of the week after leading Northwest to a 38- 17 road victory over Washburn. Wright rushed for a team-high 118 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing for 233 yards and a score.

DEFENSIVE SUPERLATIVES
Northwest has not allowed a rushing touchdown in 15 consecutive games. The Bearcat defense has not allowed an opposing rusher to reach 100 yards in 44 straight contests.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. MSSU
Northwest holds a 25-4 advantage in the all-time series vs. Missouri Southern. The Bearcats are 11-3- 1 against the Lions in Maryville. Northwest has won 23 straight games in the series.

LAST TIME VS. THE LIONS
Last season, Northwest scored a 63-0 shutout victory over Missouri Southern at Bearcat Stadium. It was total domination by the Bearcats, who compiled 651 yards of total offense while limiting Missouri Southern to 69 yards. The Lions never got inside of Northwest's 40. The Bearcats scored 42 first-half points and never looked back.
 
BEARCATS FEAST ON LIONS AT HOME
In the last five home games vs. Missouri Southern, Northwest has won those five contests by an average margin of 44.2 points per game. Northwest has outscored Missouri Southern in the last five games at Bearcat Stadium, 255-34.

500 YARDS OF OFFENSE
Northwest tallied 509 yards of offense in its 38-17 win at Washburn. It marks the first time since Sept. 23, 2017, that the Bearcats had at least 500 yards of total offense. Northwest put up 651 yards of total offense against Missouri Southern last season.

HESSLER LEAVING HIS MARK
For the second consecutive game to start the 2018 season, junior linebacker Andy Hessler led the team in tackles-for-loss. Hessler notched four TFLs against Missouri Western and then added three more TFLs at Washburn. The Hartland, Wisconsin, native ranks No. 3 in the nation in tackles-for-loss (3.50 TFLs/game). Hessler had recorded two tackles-for-loss in his first two seasons in a Bearcat uniform.

20 YEARS SINCE FIRST TITLE
It has been 20 years since the Bearcats won the program's first national title in 1998. A 20-year reunion will be held at Homecoming this season to honor the 15-0 national champions of 1998.
