TOPEKA, Kansas - The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team recorded a 3-0 sweep of Colorado State-Pueblo in the season-opener for both squads at the Washburn Invitational on Friday. Northwest won by set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-12.

For the match, Northwest tallied a sizzling .389 attack percentage with 43 kills and only eight attack errors. It is the highest attack percentage for the Bearcats since posting a .410 effort against Fort Hays State on Oct. 7, 2016.
The Bearcats hit .448 in the first set with 13 kills and no attack errors. The Bearcats churned out a 90-percent sideout performance in the opening stanza. Northwest did not trail in the first set and was tied on two occasions.
The Bearcats rolled up 16 kills in the second set, while limiting CSU-Pueblo to six kills (.032 hitting percentage).
Northwest completed the sweep by never trailing in the third set. CSU-Pueblo hit -.034 with five kills and six errors in the set.
The Bearcats will take on Southeastern Oklahoma State at approximately 4 p.m. today.
