Game One Key Innings
- Northwest got on the board first in the second inning with a one out rally. With one down, Herrera was hit by a pitch. Handzlik and Gutierrez hit back-to-back singles to load the bases. Barratt was hit by a pitch, forcing in Herrera to make it 1-0. Bilodeau got an RBI single to shallow left field to drive in Handzlik to give Northwest a 2-0 lead.
- Rycraft singled to start the 14th inning. After a failed bunt attempt to move him over, Figg reached on a fielder's choice but Rycraft was able to get a good enough jump to make it to second safely. Hassman hit a single to the hole between short and third to load the bases with one down. Herrera came up and ripped a single to left, driving in the winning run for Northwest.
Game Two Key Statistics (Northwest 7, Emporia State 6)
- The Bearcats scored one in the second, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the seventh. Emporia State had three in the first, two in the third and one in the fifth.
- Northwest had seven runs on eight hits with three errors. The Hornets scored six times on nine hits with one error.
- Figg went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Herrera went 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored. He hit a home run in the fifth inning.
- Hassman had a double, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Gutierrez was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Game Two Key Innings
- With one out in the second, Handzlik drew a walk and went to second on a ground out. Barratt hit an RBI single to left to drive in Handzlik for the Bearcats' first run.
- Herrera and Handzlik drew back-to-back walks with one down in the fourth. A wild pitch advanced both runners. Gutierrez hit a single into the hole at third, driving in Herrera for an RBI.
- In the fifth, Rycraft drew a walk to lead off and went to second on a groundout. Figg hit a single into right field and Rycraft slid safely into home. After another groundout, Herrera launched his first home run of the year, a two-run shot over the left center field fence to make it a 6-5 ball game.
- With one down in the seventh, Bilodeau and Figg hit back-to-back singles to put runners on first and second. Hassman tied the game, 6-6, with a double down the left field line, driving in Bilodeau. After a pitching change, Herrera walked to load the bases. Handzlik hit a grounder back to the pitcher who forced out Figg at home, but an errant throw by the catcher allowed Hassman to score from second to give Northwest a 7-6 lead.
