Baseball moves to 2-0 with 15-0 shutout over Rangers

Key Northwest Innings
- For the second straight game, Fort led off the first by reaching safely for Northwest. He singled through the right side but was forced out on an Adams fielder's choice. After a groundout advanced Adams to second, Holler singled to left field to drive in the game's first run.

- Hietpas struck out the side in the second, ending the frame with a called third strike.

- Herrera was hit by a pitch to start the third and went to second on a Holler walk. Handzlik loaded the bases with a single to right and Figg's sacrifice fly made it 2-0 Bearcats.

- Northwest took control in the fourth, scoring five times. Adams scored after reaching on a one-out single after an error by the pitcher on a pickoff attempt. Holler hit an RBI single to score Herrera to force a pitching change. After a second out, Figg drew a walk and Hassman singled to drive in Holler, making it 5-0. Rycraft reached on an error by the third baseman, allowing both Hassman and Figg to score.

- The Bearcats added three more in the fifth. With one down, Herrera singled up the middle and Holler was hit by a pitch. Handzlik singled and Herrera scored on an error by the left fielder. Figg reached on a fielder's choice but an error by the shortstop allowed Holler to score, with everyone else reaching safely. After a Hassman walk, Rycraft laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Handzlik from third.

- With two outs in the seventh, Figg doubled to right and scored as Hassman traded places with him after a double to left. Rycraft singled to center to score Hassman to make it 12-0. Wulff singled to left center to put runners on the corners. Fort deposited the Bearcats' first home run of the season over the left field fence to score three, making it 15-0.
