Caenepeel fans 12 in loss to RiverHawks

- The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team fell to Northeastern State, 3-2, on Saturday at Rousey Field in Tahlequah, Okla.
- The Bearcats are now 8-4 on the year and 0-2 in conference while the RiverHawks improve to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in MIAA play.
- Anthony Caenepeel pitched a complete game, allowing just three runs on three hits with 12 strikeouts. He carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the seventh inning.
- Caenepeel retired 19 consecutive hitters after allowing a leadoff walk in the first, working flawless second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

- Northwest scored single runs in the third and fourth innings. The RiverHawks got all three runs in the seventh inning.
- The Bearcats scored two runs on five hits with no errors. Northeastern State scored three runs on three hits with an error.

- Fort and Adams started the third by getting hit by back-to-back pitches. After Herrera moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt, Fort game around to score the game's first run after Holler reached on an error by the shortstop.

- In the fourth, Hrdlicka drew a one-out walk and Rycraft was hit by a pitch to put two on. Fort then singled to left to score Hrdlicka to give Northwest a 2-0 lead.
