Key Northwest Innings
- The Gorillas were set down in order in the top of the first as Roberts needed 14 pitches to strikeout the side to begin the game.

- Roberts worked himself into a jam in the top of the fifth. An error put a runner on and after a base hit up the middle to put runners on the corners Northwest made the pitching change to Pearcy. Pitt State stole second to put runners on second and third with two down but Pearcy got a strikeout to end the threat without any damage for the Bearcats.

- With two outs in the sixth, Fort hit a double to center and went to third on a passed ball. Holler got his second hit of the day as he laced a ball that fell just in front of the Gorillas' right fielder who dove for the ball. Fort scored easily from third to make it 4-1 Pittsburg State.

- Northwest batted around in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead. The Bearcats got five runs on five hits. Wulff got it started with a pinch-hit triple to right. Gotta drove him in with a single to left, prompting a pitching change. Greenslade got a single courtesy of the pitcher's foot and stole second. On the steal, the throw from the catcher went into center field, allowing Gotta to score. Greenslade would score on an Adams grounder that was booted by the second baseman to make it 5-4. Lewis battled a nine-pitch at bat for a walk to put two on with no outs. After a pop out, Fort singled to center to score Adams to tie the game, 5-5.  Holler came up with a go-ahead RBI single to right to score Lewis from second. Holler got caught in a run down between first and second on the throw and Fort was thrown out trying to take home on the play.
