Baseball wins at Lindenwood, 6-3

- The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team picked up a 6-3 win over Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
- Northwest improved to 8-6 on the year and 3-2 in conference play. The Lions fall to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in MIAA action.
- Jay Hrdlicka went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in the win.
- Anthony Caenepeel got his first win of the year, going 8.1 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out six.

- Northwest got single runs in the first, third and fifth innings before tacking on two in the seventh. The Bearcats also scored one in the ninth.
- Northwest finished the day with 10 hits and one errors.
- Lindenwood scored one in the fourth and added two in the ninth. The Lions collected eight hits but committed three errors, leading to two unearned runs.

- Fort capitalized on a leadoff walk in the first and came around to score on a Hrdlicka single to make it 1-0 Northwest.

- Adams singled with one out and scored on a two-out Hrdlicka single in the third inning, pushing the lead to 2-0.

- Gotta turned a one-out walk in the fifth into another run. He moved to second and then to third on wild pitches and scored on a Lewis single.

- With one out in the seventh, Hrdlicka singled and went to second on a groundout. Barratt reached on an error which allowed Hrdlicka to score from second and Barratt to reach second. After a pitching change, Handzlik doubled to score Barratt to make it 5-1.

- In the ninth, Barratt hit a solo home run with one out to push the lead to 6-1.
