Story Headlines- The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team picked up a 6-1 MIAA victory over Nebraska-Kearney on Tuesday at Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo.
- Northwest improved to 14-13 overall while Nebraska-Kearney falls to 12-14. Both teams now have identical 9-8 MIAA records.

James Holler had four RBI, going 3-for-4 with three doubles. He scored two runs and was also hit by a pitch.

Anthony Caenepeel struck out a career-high 13 batters in 8.0 innings. His only two walks of the game came in the ninth inning. He allowed just one run on six hits.
Key Northwest Statistics- Northwest scored two in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the seventh. the Bearcats had six runs on 10 hits with one error.
- The Lopers were held to just six hits and one run, coming in the ninth.

Carson Smith got the final three outs of the game. He allowed one walk and recorded one strikeout while using just 14 pitches.
Key Northwest Innings- Caepenpeel worked perfect three-up three-down innings for the Bearcats in the first, sixth and seventh innings.
- Handzlik singled to lead off the fourth inning and went to second on a Fort sacrifice bunt. Holler hit a double deep down the left field line to drive in Handzlik to give Northwest a 1-0 lead. Meyer reached on an infield single to the shortstop to put runners on the corners with one out. Barratt laid down a perfect bunt to the left side of the infield with the third baseman playing back. Holler scored from third and Barratt reached on an infield single.
- With one out in the fifth, Lewis walked and went to second on a Handzlik bunt single. Fort flew out to bring up Holler. Holler chose a different foul line to hug, doubling down the right field line this time, scoring Handzlik and Lewis to make it 4-0 Bearcats. Meyer traded places with Holler with a double of his own to left, making it 5-0 Northwest.
- Handzlik singled to center with one out in the seventh and came around to score a batter later on Holler's third double of the game, this time to center field. The RBI gave the Bearcats a 6-0 lead heading into the eighth.
