Story Headlines - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team fell to Washburn University, 9-2, on Saturday afternoon at Falley Field in Topeka, Kan.

Key Northwest Statistics- Northwest had two runs on five hits and did not commit an error. The Bearcats scored two runs in the ninth inning.
- Washburn scored three in the first, three in the second, one in the third and two in the fifth. The Ichabods had 11 hits and one error.

Key Northwest Innings-
Dane Appel pinch hit to lead off the eighth for the Bearcats and was promptly hit by the first pitch he saw. After a strikeout, Fort singled to right, moving Apple to second. After another flyout, Washburn had a pitching change. After working the count full, Gotta drew a walk to load the bases but the Ichabods got out of the jam with a strikeout.
- With one out in the ninth, Holler doubled to right center and went to third on a Barratt single up the middle. Appel reached on a throwing error by the short stop which allowed Holler and Barratt to score, making it 9-2 Washburn.
