Ryan Welty hit his only long range attempt of the game. The freshman has now hit his last 15 three-pointers, an MIAA record, dating back to Dec. 11.
- The Bearcats led by as many as 37 midway through the second half. The Storm led for 17 seconds, 6-4, early in the first half.
Key Northwest Sequence
- Northwest trailed for just 17 seconds in the contest when Simpson hit a three pointer with 18:03 left in the first half to make it 6-4. After that, it was all Bearcats. Over the next 10-plus minutes, Northwest went on a 37-7 run to take full control of the contest. In the first 14-point run, Schneider hit a pair of three pointers and Kurth added another one to make it 18-6 with 14:33 left. A pair of Storm free throws made it 18-8 but Pitts hit a jumper in the lane, knocked down a three pointer and then found Mosby under the bucket for a layup to push the lead to 17, 25-8. Simpson would knock down a three pointer with 11:15 to go but then would go scoreless over the next four minutes as the Bearcats went on a 16-0 run to push the lead to 30, 41-11.
