- Northwest won the first set, 25-16, but dropped the second, 25-23. The Bearcats rebounded with a 25-18 win in the third. The Griffons won the fourth, 25-15, and the fifth set, 15-8.

Key Northwest Sequences
- Northwest closed out the first set strong, winning five of the last seven points in the set. Up 21-15, Sunderman put away a kill and on the next play, Becker and Foster combined for a block to put the Bearcats up 23-15. After a Missouri Western kill, Bruder put away a kill off an assist from Dannettell to force set point and a Griffon timeout. The Griffons hit into an attacking error on the next point to give Northwest the set, 25-16.
- In the second set, Northwest used a strong start to win the point to take the 2-1 lead over the Griffons. Foster and Bruder put away back-to-back kills to tie the match, 2-2. After a Missouri Western attacking error, Becker put away a kill and Bruder followed it up with another kill to make it 5-2. Foster and Becker combined on a block on the next play to make it 6-2 Bearcats. Northwest would not trail for the remainder of the set.
